This photo was taken awhile back. This was Jeremy and I on a cool down lap. He was wasted as shit trying to prove he could race on beer alone for hydration.

Just tried this beer the other day. It was interesting, by no means would it become one of my favorites. Maybe it was the whole Java thing that wasn't so great.

Here is a quick fix for a computer (Cat Eye Enduro 8) with a broken bracket (the brackets suck), zip tie the whole thing to the stem. Actually it has worked so well that I am just going to keep it like this.

The cyclocross race in Clermont was tough as hell. I was located in a basin that held a track will with the surroundig hills rising several stories.
The start of the race was a sprint uphill to the top, followed by a quick downhill, back into more uphill with sand, followed by more uphill climbing, then a barrier that led to the an extremely steep clip. Then there was some quick downhill with lots of turns, but the inside of the turns were really sandy and forced you to the oustide. this caused several people coming in hot to blow through a course marker or two.
At the mid section of the downhill was a long stretch of more sand then turned hard right into a sandy donwhill. the lower portion of the course was all grass and after a couple of laps causing the grass to become matted down, it slowly became a place where you could recover.
The final section of the course consisted of more sand, but was easliy bunny hopped with some speed after a short section of asphalt. The final obstacle was a staircase with a tight left turn back down the hill followed by a 90 degree right turn to complete the lap and sprint back uphill to do it all over again.
Overall it was really fun. The course was 1.5miles, the average lap was 8-9 mintues with the pros completing the course much faster.
Things to remenber:
1. Do install compact cranks (having road bike gearing doesn't help on a course with lots of climbing.
2. Do have someone in the pit with a water bottle incase you need to grab a quick drink.

I have been riding cross at Quiet Waters on Saturday and Sunday afternoons after riding road in the morning (havent ridden cross at Markham yet, but Ross has quite a few times). During the week, since it gets dark so early, I have been riding to the Holiday Park jogging trails to ride the gravel and then do run up and down some stairs on the way back home.
I might be heading up to Orlando to race cross this weekend so I won't be around. Hit me up if you want to ride sometime.
